OKLAHOMA CITY, Feb. 25, 2017 – The Oklahoma City Blue announced today that guard Reggie Williams was called up and signed to a 10-day contract with the New Orleans Pelicans. He is the 24th GATORADE Call-Up in the NBA Development League this season.
Williams will be joining the Pelicans for the second time this season. In his previous stint, he played in five games and averaged 5.0 points and 1.2 rebounds in 12.6 minutes. In his 28 starts this season for the Blue, Williams averaged 18.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 33.3 minutes and was named a D-League All-Star.
This is the fifth time in his career to be called up. Prior to this year, Williams was called up in both of his stints with the Oklahoma City franchise; in 2013-14 to the Oklahoma City Thunder and in 2014-15 to the San Antonio Spurs.
21 different players have been called up in the Blue’s franchise history, a total of 26 times.
