OKLAHOMA CITY, Feb. 25, 2017 – The Oklahoma City Blue (28-12) recorded its largest margin of victory of the season, defeating the Salt Lake City Stars (12-23), 103-73, on Saturday night.
The game was tight in the first quarter, but an offensive run by Alex Caruso added eight points in 50 seconds halfway through the first quarter. The Blue led the Stars 45-36 at half time.
Caruso finished with a career-high tying 23 points, to go along with three assists and three rebounds.
The Blue went on an 11-2 run late in the fourth quarter to solidify the win. Kaleb Tarczewski scored six points in the final frame, finishing with nine points and 11 rebounds.
The win put Oklahoma City at 5-0 on the second night of a back-to-back this season.
“I was really pleased with our concentration and intensity tonight on a back-to-back,” Head Coach Mark Daigneault said. “I thought we gave great effort and we executed really well, especially on the defensive end.”
Five players were in double figures for Oklahoma City for the 30th time this season, including 16 points from Josh Huestis, on assignment from the Thunder.
“It is a test of the depth of our team,” Caruso said. “It’s our guys coming in and doing our jobs every game.”
Oklahoma City will play the Iowa Energy on March 3 at 7 p.m. in the Cox Convention Center.
