Dominant Paint Performance Leads Blue over Skyforce

OKLAHOMA CITY, March 30, 2017- The Oklahoma City Blue (33-16) defeated the Sioux Falls Skyforce (28-21), 128-113, on Thursday night.

Oklahoma City took its largest lead of the game at 22 points in the fourth quarter. Alex Caruso led the team with eight points in final frame and finished with 17 points, five assists and five rebounds.

The Skyforce started the first quarter on a 10-5 run and led 32-21 at the end of the first. The Blue bounced back in the second quarter shooting 63 percent from the field, outscoring the Skyforce by 16 points in the quarter.

“I thought on offense we played with a little more pace [in the second quarter] and we attacked a little more,” said Head Coach Mark Daigneault. “We got our defense into the game and caught up to them a little bit.”

The second half was fueled by six Oklahoma City players who scored in double digits. Daniel Hamilton led the offensive push for the Blue, contributing 23 points and 14 rebounds, his team-leading 15th double-double of the season.

Oklahoma City dominated the paint, scoring 88 points to the Skyforce’s 44.

Josh Huestis, on assignment from the Oklahoma City Thunder, added 12 points, two rebounds, three assists and five blocks in 33 minutes.

Oklahoma City will play its last regular season home game on Saturday, April 1, in the Cox Convention Center at 7 p.m. against the Texas Legends.
