OKLAHOMA CITY, Feb. 6, 2017 – Oklahoma City Blue center Dakari Johnson was named to the 2017 Western Conference NBA Development League All-Star team, it was announced today by the NBA Development League.
It is the first All-Star selection for Johnson. This season, he is averaging 18.4 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.50 blocks per game, all career highs. He has 10 double-doubles this season, equaling his total from 2015-16.
D-League All-Stars were selected by votes from the league’s 22 head coaches and all players. Players were eligible for selection if they competed in at least half of their team’s games through January 29.
Johnson, selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder with the 45th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, was named the D-League’s Player of the Month for the month of November and has earned D-League Performer of the Week honors twice this season.
He represents the ninth All-Star selection in franchise history.
The NBA Development League All-Star Game, presented by Kumho Tire, will take place at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on February 18 at 1:30 p.m. CT and will be televised on NBA TV.
