OKLAHOMA CITY, Feb. 14, 2017 – The Oklahoma City Blue (26-11) defeated the Santa Cruz Warriors (18-16), 109-100, on Tuesday night.
Oklahoma City fell behind, 59-68, to open the third quarter, but went on a 12-3 run to tie the game at 71-all with 5:19 in the third. Reggie Williams scored five of the Blue’s points during the run, and the team never looked back.
The Blue outscored the Warriors by 10 points in the third quarter. Dakari Johnson scored nine in the quarter and finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds, his 12th double-double of the season.
“I was really happy with how we responded in the second half,” Head Coach Mark Daigneault said. “We got our defense into the game and when our shots started falling, that’s when we were able to pull away.”
Williams tallied 12 points and five assists and was the only other starter in double-digits.
The bench powered Oklahoma City to victory, scoring 62 points, led by 16 from Jannero Pargo. Kaleb Tarczewski turned in his fifth double-double of the season, 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Oklahoma City stays home after the All-Star break to face the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Wednesday, February 22, in the Cox Convention Center at 7 p.m.
